I’m a big fan of songs whose sound differs from their lyrical content. This is one of the most deftly executed examples, from the beautifully warped mind of Lyle Lovett.

It’s a murder ballad, but the music doesn’t give that away. In fact, the lyrics only hint at menace in the middle of the song, saving the big reveal for the end.
